If a page here is wrong, if the apply link took you somewhere you did not expect, or if a lender you reached through us treated you unfairly, this page tells you where to go and what happens next. Most loan complaints go to the lender first and then to the Manitoba Consumer Protection Office.
Complaints about this site
Complaints about this site go to the address on the contact page, with the page you mean and what you think is wrong. We acknowledge within two business days and reply in full within ten. A stale figure is corrected and the "last updated" date moves; a wrong Winnipeg detail, such as a bus route we described badly or a hospital placed in the wrong part of the city, is fixed the same way.
Complaints about the application platform
Problems with the form, the bank verification or the matching go to the application platform's support and privacy contacts, which appear on your confirmation. We never hold your application, so we cannot see it or fix it. The how it works page names each step so you can say which one failed.

Complaints about a lender
A complaint about a payday lender starts with the lender's own complaint contact, which the agreement must show, and moves to the Consumer Protection Office if that goes nowhere. Every payday lender serving Manitoba, online lenders included, needs a licence for each location under Part XVIII of The Consumer Protection Act, and the Payday Loans Regulation sets the rules that come with it:
- a fee at or under $14 per $100 borrowed, and a loan no larger than 30% of your net pay;
- cancellation at no cost within 48 hours, Sundays and holidays not counted;
- at most 5% of the principal on a renewal, a replacement loan or a new loan within 7 days of a payoff;
- no second loan from the same lender while one is still owing;
- a default penalty of no more than 2.5% per 30 days, never compounded, a bounced payment charge of no more than $20, and no wage assignments.
The Manitoba Consumer Protection Office licenses payday lenders and looks into complaints about them. Before you file, gather the signed agreement, the bank record of the deposit and each debit, any messages from the lender, and the dates. A lender funding a Garden City address and one funding a Niverville address answer to the same office.
An installment lender is bound by its agreement, by Manitoba consumer protection law and by the federal criminal rate. A rate above 35%, a charge that was never in the agreement, or collection calls to your workplace are worth raising with the same office.

What we keep
We keep complaint emails and our replies until the matter is settled and the site is corrected, and we never share them with lenders or the platform.
